Long before there we had a Pinterest, were aTwitter with following everyone around the globe; or were glued to a YouTube channel we had blogging … and we STILL have blogging. Why?
Because it is accessible, conversational, and flexible. Despite all of the other platforms out there, blogs remain one of the most effective, viable way to build and engage an audience … YOUR audience!
We think blogging is so valuable that we picked it as the first topic for our Five for Five Webinar series.
When you visit the MCA Academy page on the website, you will see that I included the results of a 2011 study by Technorati that shows 60 percent of bloggers are hobbyists. This infographic by David Risley (www.davidrisley.com) that I just discovered this week seems to support that analysis, too.
What I like is that the image also illustrates many of the key questions that people ask:
- who else is blogging?
- how long have the blogged?
- how many blogs do they have?
- what do they look for in a platform?
- what platforms do the most popular blogs use?
Five for Five: Blogs and Blogging doesn’t cover that last question, but it does help you answer the other ones … and also answers these:
- How do I find time to blog?
- What can I blog about?
- How do I get people to visit my blog?
Hint: It isn’t always about writing! The Blogs and Blogging series, available exclusively to our award-winning honorees, covers everything from finding the right platform and goal-setting to analytics and measuring RoI (return on investment).
The Mom’s Choice Awards Academy hosts the Five for Five series on the Mom’s Choice Awards YouTube Channel. In addition to an Introduction to this self-paced series of online videos – which is FREE by the way – you can also see samples of some of our other training.
Even though the instruction has no cost for honorees, you must register for the series at the Mom’s Choice Awards Academy store to receive the access links to this portal on the YouTube channel.
The classes are available exclusively to our award-winners and give them free, on-demand training for basic marketing and social media subjects. Three or four times a year, we will also run live classes so honorees can get more intermediate- and advanced-level training. We’ll post info about those on the MCA Academy page of the website.
All MCA Academy classes – whether via our YouTube channel or webinar platform – are specifically tailored to our honorees’ needs and demographics.
Got a question about blogs or blogging that wasn’t on this list? We’d love to help answer it for you – even if you aren’t an honoree. Just add it to the comments below and someone from our Academy Team will get back with you.
