The foundation of the Mom’s Choice Awards is its commitment to helping individuals – authors, illustrators, entrepreneurs, and business owners – expand their networks and hone their business acumen.
It is the least we can do given that they are so committed to helping families grow emotionally, physically and spiritually. They provide products and services that morally sound, promote good will, and are inspirational and uplifting.
Their passion inspires us not just to do more, but to walk the talk. Rather than require entrants to pay significant up-front fees for privileges that may not happen if they don’t earn our Honoring Excellence seal, we invest in leveraging partnerships that create opportunities that benefit our Honorees.
Earlier this month, we announced two new partnerships.
- Blackfish Children’s Books – This strategic alliance with Customizabooks builds upon that company’s strong history of innovative digital reading and gaming technologies and Mom’s Choice Awards®-winning children’s books to provide consumers picture book content endorsed by the Mom’s Choice Awards® on a platform that will not only help to accelerate the transition to e-reading in children’s literature, but help children as they learn to read, too.
- Maestro Market – Our partnership with Maestro Market offers a one-of-a-kind platform for our Honorees to share their expertise and help families, as well as engage with their audience directly. Mom’s Choice Awards® staff and Honorrees can engage more deeply with key communities: parents, educators, entrepreneurs, authors, illustrators, among others.
Today we offer a third partnership for our award-winning authors, illustrators and self- and independent publishers.
Welcome the Independent Book Publisher’s Association!
Starting in January 2013, Mom’s Choice Awards® Honorees can substantively benefit from a partnership with the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). First, Honorees can become IBPA members at an introductory price of 50% off first year membership. This includes …
- access to all of IBPA’s marketing and educational programs;
- a subscription to the Independent monthly member magazine featuring how-to publishing tools;
- member discounts on numerous goods and services;
- and more.
Second, Honorees can attend IBPA Publishing University Online seminars at a discount.
“IBPA is happy to offer its many marketing and educational resources to the Mom’s Choice Honorees while expanding our own member’s access to the learning opportunities offered by MCA,” says IBPA President Florrie Binford Kichler. Both IBPA members and MCA Honorees will benefit.
Mom’s Choice Awards® Executive Director Dawn Matheson is herself a self-published author who created her own publishing company. Like many of our Honorees, she traveled that bumpy path having to figure everything out for herself … the hard way.
“Whenever I speak with people about the self-publishing path, I always mention IBPA,” says Dawn. “I couldn’t have been successful as an author or publisher without them. Encouraging them to join IBPA is the first, most consistent recommendation I offer.”
The Mom’s Choice Awards® is pleased to offer IBPA members a one-time 30% discount for entering their book in the Mom’s Choice Awards®.
The book category is quite broad, and includes traditional ink-on-paper products, as well as audio, eBook and Apps materials for audiences from infant through adult. There are more than 50 subcategories, ensuring that the book is evaluated as thoroughly and accurately as possible.
IBPA members can also attend the Mom’s Choice Awards® Academy by registering with the Mom’s Choice Awards. Classes will be free to newly registered IBPA members.
Together, the Independent Book Publishers Association and Mom’s Choice Awards® are offering independent authors, illustrators, and publishers unparalleled access to educational, marketing, and coaching resources within their industry.
MCA Honorees and IBPA members must contact their respective organizations to receive the requisite promotional codes from their respective organizations.
