What kind of habits do you have – good or bad?  Maybe you want to change them and become a little more disciplined – author and illustrator Neon Seon (the fun nickname she uses for her books) knows all about this.

[amazon_link id=”0984206906″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ][/amazon_link]MCA: Welcome to the spotlight Neon Seon! Can you please tell us about what motivated you to create Shouty?
Neon Seon: I created Shouty when I was a junior in high school and eventually, I felt the need to write Life of Shouty: Good Habits for him. I chose its theme because I’ve struggled with certain bad habits over the years. Although I’ve conquered most of them, some still pose a challenge. Several of these habits began when I was in elementary school which is why I write for this audience. Elementary school is both an impressionable and tender time in a person’s life.

MCA: Now that you have an award-winning book, what are your goals for the next year?
Neon Seon: In the next year I’d like to further develop the Life of Shouty Series through animation, and possibly bring back the comic strips in the form of web comics.

MCA: Please name three ways your Mom’s Choice Award® will help you attain your goals.
Neon Seon: It has been an honor to be recognized by Mom’s Choice Award®. This platform provides greater exposure, validation of the product, and sheer prestige—all of which benefit and positively propel the Life of Shouty brand.

MCA: Can you share with us what you learned about yourself as an author in creating your award-winning book?
Neon Seon: I’ve learned that with effort and the support of others, dreams can come true. I’ve also learned that I made the right decision to nurture my creativity and give it an outlet.

MCA: Since launching your book, what has been your most rewarding experience in promoting or sharing it with the public? Do you have a favorite memory?
Neon Seon: I absolutely love doing school visits and interacting with Shouty’s readers! My favorite memories always involve children learning and laughing as they read Life of Shouty books.

MCA: As a new honoree, do you have any questions you’d like some of the “old hands” to answer for you?
Neon Seon: Yes, I am always looking for ways to grow the Life of Shouty brand, and I am open to any suggestions!
