In 2009, the first book in Debra Gano’s Heartlight Girls Series earned a Mom’s Choice Award in the Juvenile Books Level 2 (ages 9 to 12), Mind, Spirit and Body category. She is continuing with her quest to change lives for girls with a new television show Empowering Girls – From the Inside Out. 

Debra has entered her show into Oprah Winfrey’s competition to bring inspiring and positive television programs to our kids. She has created an audition video, and now needs your help to get Oprah’s attention. She needs your vote to become one of the finalists.

“Many people got their videos in early and/or have lots of friends/family voting for them all day, so it’s going to take not just me, but a village (a.k.a. YOU!) to help make this show a possible finalist.” says Debra. She is asking friends, family, and her Facebook and Twitter subsribers to vote as many times as you can between now and Saturday, when votes close. There is no limit to the number of times you can vote, and since it only takes three seconds to cast a vote, you can make a big difference in just a little bit of time.
