When it comes to selecting products for your family, you want the best. Every year, there are thousands of new items on the market. So how do you decide what will work for you and your family?

The Mom’s Choice Awards Program is designed to help you with that process. Our methodology strips away the sales pitch to test products in a “real life” environment. The MCA evaluation process uses a propriety methodology in which entries are scored on a number of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

Our judges draw on their professional knowledge as well as their expertise as parents in evaluating nominated products. Our judges are students, educators, and librarians; media and business professionals; authors, performing artists, and producers; and medical professionals and scientists. We are parents, grandparents, and children. All judges adhere to a strict code of ethics to ensure the integrity of the process.

As the Mom’s Choice Awards begins to gear up for the 2010 cycle, we are looking to expand our pool of judges. This year looks to be the largest yet in our pool of nominees, and we are seeking volunteers to join our panel. It is an opportunity to use your expertise to help other families – just like yours – in selecting the best products, services, and resources. We need judges in all categories, but especially need evaluators for these categories:

• Parenting – Special Needs
• Fertility Issues
• Young Adult Fiction & Nonfiction
• Personal Use Products

Each judge will evaluate five to ten products in their particular category. The products are evaluated against a specific set of criteria to ensure they are competing against the metric, not each other.
