The Mom’s Choice Awards will be in the Windy City!

On April 26-27, 2013, I will be attending and speaking at IBPA Publishing University 2013. Many of our award-winners in the book categories are self- and independently published authors, so I am excited about the prospect of meeting MCA Honorees!

I’m am also quite humbled to be part of a panel with Mary Agnes Antonopoulos of Viral and Deltina Hay, Plumb Web Solutions. On Saturday afternoon, we will be hosting Publishing 302: Strategies for a Winning Social Media Campaign.

Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Pinterest, Google +—how can you use social media tools effectively to promote your book when there are only so many hours in the day? Discover how to plan your social media outreach to fit your schedule, your budget and your book. You will learn both the nuts and bolts of a successful social media campaign as well as the dynamics involved in creating and nurturing social ‘billboards.’

I had the honor of participating in Publishing University 2011 in New York City. It was my first experience with this event. I didn’t attend all of the sessions, but I was able to attend a few. I can’t say enough about how valuable that time was. I remember what I learned and I use that knowledge every day … and its 3 years later!

IBPA publishing University keynoteThis year’s keynote speaker is Guy Kawasaki. Although I had heard the name, I didn’t know much about him until I had a chance to read a galley of APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur: How to Publish a Book last fall.

It is a MUST READ for anyone running their own business, not just publishers. I have been letting other projects get in the way of posting my review up at Celebrating Mom’s Choice, but I promise to do it in the next week.

If you are a Mom’s Choice Awards Honoree, or someone who would like to know more about us, please be sure to add a comment here, or send an email to marketingteam [at] momschoiceawards [dot] com. I would love to connect with you while I’m in Chicago.
